한때 잘 나가던 걸그룹 멤버에서 불법 모란노래방알바알바의 사기 피해자가 된 권민아. 어린 나이부터 아이돌을 해 세상물정에 어둡다고 해야 할지 쉽게 돈을 벌려다 역으로 당했다고 해야 할지, 여러모로 안타까운 상황에 놓여있다.
권민아는 지난 6일 고수익을 보장해준다는 말에 채팅 아르바이트를 시작했다. 권민아는 "재택근무를 치다가 채팅 알바가 뜨길래, 대화만 해주면 되는 거 아닌가 해서 (하게됐다)"고 말했다.
채팅 아르바이트는 남자가 채팅방을 잡고 있으면 여자가 방에 들어가 대화를 하는 일. 상대방이 '선물코인'이라는 포인트를 주면 포인트를 나중에 현금으로 바꾸는 구조였다.
권민아는 하루에 800만 원 상당의 포인트를 받았고, 업체에 환전을 신청했다. 업체는 "환전하려면 등급을 높여야 하니 현금 100만 원을 입금하라"고 요구했다. 입금잠실노래방알바하자 여러 핑계를 대며 추가금을 요구했고 이렇게 6차례에 걸쳐 1500만 원을 뜯어 갔다.
'채팅 아르바이트'는 지난해부터 문제가 됐던 사건이다. 채팅방 이용자는 평범한 대화로 시작해 알바생에게 점차 지나친 요구를 한다. '선물 코인'을 핑계로 성적 요구를 하고 응하면 더 큰 코인을 쏜다. 채팅 사이트 운영자는 이용자에게 코인을 유통하며 수수료를 챙긴다.
일정한 코인이 모여야 돈으로 환전할 수 있다는 것도, 환전에 여러 조건이 붙는 것도 '고소득'을 보고 쫓아온 알바생을 유인하기 위한 사기 중 하나다.
결국 '월 300만 원 이상고수익을 보장한다'는 이 '꿀알바'는 디지털 성착취의 시발점이었다. 지난해부터 문제가 됐지만 이런 사이트를 단속 처벌할 수 있는 규정이 없어 우후죽순으로 생겼고, 이를 이용한 사기도 생겼다.
권민아도 이 불법 채팅 알바에 당했다. 그는 "고객님 지금 빨리 안 주시면 이거 다 날아간다고. 너무 불안했어요. 이 돈을 넣으면서 내 돈 못 받을 거는 생각을 못하고 방이동노래방알바이 알바비 못 받을까 봐"라고 말했다.
업체는 이후에도 추가금 800만 원을 더 요구했고 권민아가 대화 상대방에게 보낸 다리 사진을 빌미로 협박했다. 권민아는 채팅을 하면서 신체 사진을 여러 장 보낸 것으로 추측된다.
코인을 돈으로 환전할 때 계좌번호 등을 입력해야하니 신상이 공개됐을 터. 이를 토대로 권민아의 타투나 신체적 특징을 알아보고 그의 정체를 파악했을 가능성이 크다. 업체는 권민아에게 "그냥 유출할까요? 각종 온라인으로?"라며 협박했다.
권민아는 "'당신 사진 SNS에 올려볼까요?'부터 시작해서 다른 멤버들 두 명의 사진을 보내달라는 협박도 했다. 1500만 원 돌려주겠다, 사진도 지워주겠다(고 했다)"고 밝혔다.
권민아는 피해 사실을 밝히면 비난받을 걸 짐작했다. 고발 과정에서 어떤 일을 했는지 모두가 알게 되기 때문. 대부분 이런 아르바이트를 구하지 않지만, 권민아와 비슷한 처지에 놓인 여성이 혹 할 수 있는 일이기에 권민아는 "같은 피해자가 나오지 않길 바란다"며 인터뷰에 응했다.

최근 한 온라인 커뮤니티에 게재된 '여자들 편의점 알바 오래 못하는 이유'라는 제목으로 여러 장의 이미지가 공개됐다. 게시물에는 여성 편의점 아르바이트생들이 남성들에게 받은 쪽지 내용이 담겨 있다.
쪽지에는 "제 이상형이신데 솔로면 알바 끝나고 연락 좀 달라", "구김살 없어 보이는 모습이 참 보기 좋아. 이름이 뭐니? 아저씨 이름은 XX이야" 등 호감을 표하는 내용이 적혀 있다.
또 다른 쪽지에는 "일을 할 때도 밥을 먹을 때도 항상 네 생각만 나는구나. 나이차가 25살이나 나지만 너도 오빠한테 관심이 있는 듯하니 긍정적으로 한 번쯤 생각해줬으면 분당노래방알바해. 항상 아프지 말고 건강했으면 좋겠다. 사랑한다"고 적혀 있다.
장문의 쪽지도 있었다. 여기에는 "의도치 않게 일 하시는 모습을 봤다. 부끄럽게도 눈을 뗄 수가 없었다. 그동안 살아오며 생각했던 이상적인 인간에 가장 가까웠다. 앞으로, 이후로도 무슨 일을 하셔도 성공하실 것이라 생각한다", "서로 '아는 사람'이 되고 싶다. 다소 소극적인 시도지만 문자 한 통이라도 부디 노여워 말고 긍정적으로 생각해달라"는 고백이 담겨 있다.
해당 게시물이 공개되자 한 누리꾼은 자신이 겪은 경험담을 털어놨다. 그는 "번호 물어보는데 남자친구 있다고 했는데 거짓말 같았는지 다음 날에도 와서 번호 달라고 하더라. 그래서 남자친구 있다고 하면서 철벽방어하니까 사이코처럼 화내더라"고 말했다.

이어 "성별로는 여성 알바생(62.7%)이 남성 알바생(59.2%)보다 단기 알바를 선호한다는 답변이 소폭 높았다"라고 밝혔다.

시간당 10만원을 주는 ‘남자친구 대행 아르바이트’라는 말에 속아 홍콩에 갔던 20대 한국인 청년들이 범죄자가 될 뻔했다.
23일 주홍콩 한국총영사관에 따르면 21∼22세 한국 남성 3명은 소셜미디어를 통해 이같은 제안을 받고 지난 18일 자비로 항공권을 구입해 홍콩에 입국했다. 이들은 공항에 마중 나온 취업 알선자 2명과 만나 숙소로 이동했다.
알선자들은 처음에는 고객에게 돈을 받아 자신들에게 넘기면 수수료를 떼고 나머지를 돌려주겠다고 말했다.

이에 대해서 권민아는 "내가 연예인인 걸 안 이후로는 '당신 사진 SNS에 올려볼까요?'부터 시작해서 다른 멤버들 두 명의 사진야짤을 보내달라는 협박 내용도 있었다."면서 "비판받을 걸 알지만 더는 피해자가 나오지 않길 바라는 마음에 인터뷰를 결심했다."고 말했다.
서울 용산경찰서는 권 씨뿐 아니라 추가 피해자도 있는 것으로 보고 수사를 확대할 예정이다.
